Watermarking options
JPEG quality
JPEG quality can be altered so that less quality can result in a dramatically smaller
image file size. It may also be desirable to put images of inferior quality on the net for oublic consumption.
The best quality is 75%, there should be no reason to go above this since increasing
quality towards 100% will result in little improvement but vastly increase file size.
However decreasing quality down towards 50 to 60% can have little impact on perceived
image quality but great benefits for file size. The "Preview" function displays
the original and new file sizes and can also be used to gauge the impact on visual
quality.
If the text watermark option is selected and no text entered the H2Omarker can be used
as a tool for just doing the reduction of image quality.
Transparency
The level of transparency of the watermark is as much or as little as you want. 100% is
totally transparent (ie. invisible) while as you move towards 0% the watermark
becomes stronger until it is totally opaque.
File prefix
When the product generates the new images it can either use the existing files names
or it can prepend the "wm_" prefix to the image name in order to distinguish them
from the original images. This is most useful if the source
and destination directories are the same.
